Smoodi was an artistic collaboration led by Tessa Mok and Liam Jackson, with support from Aryan Srivastava, Mridul Manas, Rosie Gillett, and Omar el Sabbagh. Born from a conversation among friends at the University of British Columbia, the name Smoodi embodies a spirit of artistic whimsy and exploration.
In February 2020, the team began designing their first collection.
However, the Covid-19 pandemic disrupted operations, forcing the team apart. Despite this challenge, their shared commitment to the project kept them connected.
Two years and three collections later, Smoodi evolved from a spontaneous idea into a cherished community memory. Today, the project lives on through those who proudly wear the apparel, keeping its creative spirit alive.
